LFH's new headquarters was recently officially opened by Gordon MSP, Alex Salmond, Scotland’s first minister.
Mr Salmond was on hand to hear the LFH success story and see for himself how the firm has developed since its inception almost one year ago.
The tour of the purpose-designed building and site included an inspection of recently acquired specialist machinery; an investment for LFH of more than £400,000. The machinery allows the company to support the growing demand for its services on a 24-hour basis, as well as significantly expanding production capabilities.
Mr Salmond said: "The North-east is known around the world for its engineering expertise, and LFH is a fine example of top engineering output." He added, "From the diesel engine pumps and ship propulsion systems produced here, to the engineering talent of our skilled offshore industry, this area boasts a wealth of technical ability that is second to none."
Specialising in the manufacture of marine diesel engine coolant pumps, LFH continue to be a North-east success story. Managing Director Les Hill was proud to demonstrate to Mr Salmond the high standard of engineering work carried out by the firm.
He said: "During the visit I had the chance to speak to Mr Salmond about the importance of a strong UK exporting market to companies like ourselves and the hopes that we have for the future of our industry.
"The past ten months have seen a great deal of change and development at LFH. This has been matched by a great deal of optimism throughout the industry for the future of the manufacturing sector, something which we are committed to being a part of."
